Kangaroo Island

Renowned for its native wildlife — the koalas are disease-free, Kangaroo Island is home to one of Australia's rarest little marsupials as well as the highly endangered Glossy-black Cockatoo subspecies.

On 3rd January 2020, Kangaroo Island had the worst bushfires in its history which burnt nearly half of the Island, threatening the extinction of these, and many other important species.
